About the role
A vacancy has now become available for a Blue Badge Assessment Officer within Adult Social Care. This position is specifically for a fully Qualified registered Health Professional who will be part of the team, assessing eligibility of applicants who are applying for a Blue Badge for difficulties parking close to where they need to be. This can be due to their Mobility and other health issues including Hidden Disabilities for both Adults and Children.
Please note that this team has adopted a flexible Hybrid way of working.
You will be responsible for reviewing applications and the supporting medical evidence that has been submitted under the current guidelines, as set by The Department for Transport. You will make professional decisions as to whether the applicant would qualify with the information provided or you may at times, need to carry out telephone or face to face clinic assessments.
You will be reporting to the Practice Manager and will also work closely with other Blue Badge Assessment Officers. You will also be assisted by other members of the team who are responsible for the processing of applications as they come in both online and paper.
This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday 8.30am till 5pm

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
