Cannock Chase Council Housing Options Team is seeking an enthusiastic person to join our small but busy team to provide high quality, structured and time limited interventions to prevent homelessness with a particular emphasis on supporting households within the private rented sector.
You should have previous experience of managing complex and difficult situations, carrying a caseload of customers with varying levels of need depending on their situation and support clients in a sensitive manner understanding the emotional and intellectual needs of the customer. You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills to deal effectively and efficiently with customers and partner agencies.
You should be able to demonstrate organisational skills sufficient to administer case work to meet set targets and be able to monitor and prepare statistical information. You should also have a comprehensive understanding of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and other relevant Housing Legislation relating to tenancies in the private rented sector.
Previous experience of providing support to households with complex needs and managing and reporting safeguarding concerns would be essential together with a comprehensive knowledge of legislation relating to tenancies within the private sector.
