As part of the success we have invested over £100 million in our assets to provide better homes and more modern commercial premises for our residents and lessees. Its journey of transformation in the past few years has been remarkable.

As the Building Services Manager you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Lead a team of multi-disciplinary building services engineers to deliver core asset management functions
  • Oversee the coordinated approach to monitoring of testing, inspection and servicing contracts
  • Monitor budgets and performance targets of the responsive and planned maintenance functions

  • Assist in delivery of the Directorate’s service plan and lead on elements of that plan to meet Harlow Council’s key priorities

You’ll have experience of operational oversight of a contractor’s activities, and monitoring their performance, that deliver positive and meaningful changes to the quality and standard of our domestic and non-domestic property assets, with a good understanding of statutory and regulatory standards, and Safety, Health and Environmental requirements.

This position would be suitable for an appropriately qualified engineer looking for management opportunities and an enhanced responsibility for the development of the landlord policy documents and to influence the decisions making of our revenue and capital expenditure, reducing our energy consumption and its efficiency use overall.
