Family Practitioner Education outreach teacher
Department: Family Services
Section: Specialist Adolescent Services
Salary / Grade: P03 (£37,650 - £40,653)
Contract: Fixed term for 12 months
We believe that successful engagement requires a ‘whole systems’ approach; this includes a commitment to working collaboratively with families, actively supporting participation in the planning and delivery of services, and working closely with partners to deliver an integrated response. The intention is to improve families’ access to services, to facilitate effective information sharing and to offer co-ordinated and streamlined support to families. This will be brought about primarily through innovative engagement and support of families and young people using a “what works” approach.
We are currently looking to recruit a teacher to work with young people who may have:
Exclusions from mainstream education
A need for emotional, social and educational support
Very bright and intelligent aspirations
This post is a challenging, rewarding and very interesting position. You will need to be prepared to cope with many and varied situations around young people’s educational requirements. You should have experience of dealing with attendance issues, exclusions, managed moves, and re-integrations as well as being able to communicate with a range of education professionals including head teachers.
The successful candidate must be aware that this post is definitely not a typical mainstream school classroom position.
If you believe that you are the dynamic forward thinking individual we are looking for, we want to hear from you.
