Are you up for a challenge? We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to work as part of the Dartford Borough Council Enforcement team as a Senior Park Ranger within a highly respected, busy multi-agency Community Safety Unit.
This is a uniformed role, leading a small team of Park Ranger officers. Your focus will be on Dartford Parks and open spaces. You will provide security in the park by enforcing bye laws and other legislation including the issuing of Fixed Penalty Notices for offending behaviour such as dog fouling, littering, fly tipping and anti-social behaviour. You will provide a reassuring presence and assistance to park users, deter anti-social behaviour and assist with various events within the Borough’s parks and open spaces.
You will be expected to be the eyes and ears of the Council and Police partners in the Parks and open spaces, providing guardianship and a friendly public face for the public. Some evening, weekend and Bank Holiday working will be required through a rota, for which a ten per cent (10%) allowance is paid. Patrolling is mainly on foot and also with use of a 4 x 4 vehicle to move between sites. You may be required to attend at Court where necessary.
The Community Safety Unit is a co- located office with Kent Police and you will also be involved, on occasions, with the work of other officers who deal with environmental enforcement, parking services, licencing and community Safety.
This is a full time role, working 37 hours each week. You should hold a full driving licence. The Council operates a flexi time working policy.
Previous experience of working in a law enforcement, security, community support or similar role is desirable.
Interviews will take place week commencing: 8th October 2018
