Job introduction

Do you want to provide an essential service to council housing estates across our city? Do you have experience of cleaning and enjoy working in a customer focussed environment?

If so, we welcome your application to join the Estates Service Team as a Housing Estates Assistant.

You will be part of the Estates Service Team who deliver a cleaning and minor repairs service to the council’s housing stock of approximately 850 blocks.

About the role

We are looking for an organised and motivated individual with:

• a full, clean driving licence

• experience of leading a team

• experience of cleaning and knowledge of the methods used in cleaning common parts of public buildings

• the ability to work within a team as well as on your own initiative

• experience of delivering a high quality service within a customer focussed environment

• the ability to co-operate and adhere to Health & Safety policy, practices and instruction

• excellent verbal and written communication skills

You will work with the Estates Service team to clean the common parts of the buildings and designated surrounding areas that meet the standards set out in the cleaning schedules, by following the Estates Service’s guidelines for the different types of cleaning tasks including use of electronic scrubbing machines.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Work Permits: This role does not meet the requirement for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System. Successful candidates will need to evidence that they have the Right to Work in the UK.
