Senior Governance Officer
Starting salary £35,480pa with potential progression to £38,481pa on achieving designated skills and experience
37 hours per week

In this high-profile role, you will lead on the council’s governance and information access work. You will need to have a genuine interest in regulatory processes as you will be the corporate lead for Freedom of Information / access to environmental information. This will include evaluation of requests, making decisions on whether to release information or not, educating and informing the Councillors and Officers on statutory duties in this area.
The successful candidate will become a key member of the Governance Services Team ensuring governance policies are in line and kept updated with current legislation and regulatory requirements. You will ensure these policies are communicated and implemented throughout the council. You will also be the council’s designated CCTV coordinating officer and RIPA authorizing officer.
This is a varied and challenging role, you will enjoy interpreting complex legislation and applying it correctly.
This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. This is a small team, so we need a good team player who welcomes and responds positively to change as we are in the process of a council-wide modernisation programme.
