Do you have experience in project management and an interest in tackling environmental issues?
This role will be responsible for undertaking projects for Joint Waste Solutions, the team that delivers recycling improvement work on behalf of a partnership that includes all of Surrey’s councils and manages a £14m waste and street cleaning collection contract on behalf of four partners.
You will contribute to a programme of work across Surrey which aims to increase recycling rates in low performing areas such as flats by introducing new recycling services and making improvements to existing services. You’ll also evaluate the success of initiatives, and work with colleagues within Joint Waste Solutions and across the wider partnership to identify opportunities for further improvements.
The successful candidate will have experience in waste management or the wider environmental sector, experience of engaging with residents and encouraging them to use services effectively, and project delivery. You’ll also need to demonstrate experience of effective partnership working and the ability to work flexibly and under your own initiative.
Please note that the role involves travelling across Surrey and working outdoors on a regular basis. There will be an immediate focus in boroughs to the south of Surrey (e.g., Mole Valley, Tandridge, Reigate and Banstead and Waverley).
