The post holder will be required to provide high quality leadership on the development and delivery of the Council’s Children’s services including ensuring the Council’s statutory duties are met and children and young people from birth to 25 years achieve positive outcomes.
The post holder will contribute to the development and delivery of the Council’s Children and Families plan and associated strategies.
The post holder will form part of the Head of Services Management team to ensure that the quality of services and outcomes for children and families in Knowsley are at least good.
The post holder will maintain key relationships with council officers, elected members, Clinical Commissioning Groups, service users, carers and families as well as partners in external organisations as appropriate.
To contribute to the delelopment and delivery of high quality services that enable positive outcomes for children, young people and care leaver. Ensuring the implementation of the council’s statutory duties with key responsibility for the following services:
2) Short Breaks Respite for Children with Disabilities
3) Edge of Care Respite Service
4) Children’s Homes
5) Regional Adoption Agency
6) Youth Offending Service
7) Children Looked After
8) Care Leavers
To maintain effective quality assurance and performance management arrangements to facilitate continuous improvement of service delivery and to monitor performance.
To manage effectively and within agreed parameters and policies, all financial and human resources within the post’s span of responsibility, including implementation of the agreed savings and investments as part of the Council’s budget processes.
To ensure the needs of the workforce across local area are well met through a robust workforce development strategy developed in partnership with the workforce and relevant partners that is reviewed and refreshed annually
To play an active role on the key strategic partnership boards for Children’s Services within the remit of the post and to deputise when appropriate for the Assistant Executive Director.
To ensure that the services delivered meet the requirements of the relevant Ofsted Framework and other regulatory bodies.
The post holder will hold a Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
