Are you a digital and communications professional who is passionate about resident participation and engagement? We’re on the hunt for an energetic and positive individual to join our resident involvement team. 

The role is to deliver effective and impactful communications (including digital communications) and publicity initiatives that promote and enable resident involvement for residents living in our homes. 

You will be have a strong customer focus, be well organised, self-directed and skilled at working collaboratively in a busy environment, managing different projects at one time. You will be enthusiastic about coming up with new ideas and have the confidence and project planning skills to see them through. You will be a people person, inclusive, and work well with others to get things done.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with housing managers to develop and regularly review a housing communications and publicity strategy
  • Lead responsibility for producing and designing our quarterly housing newsletter, regular e-newsletters and other publicity materials  
  • Work with the council’s communications team to update/refresh our website pages on the council’s website 
  • Develop the use of digital engagement channels to support resident involvement activities and communication
  • Design and deliver digital inclusion programmes for residents  

Essential experience:

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills for both digital and print, including social media
  • Experience of writing, designing and producing print and online newsletters to deadline using Adobe suite, InDesign.
  • An understanding of digital engagement methods and good practice in relation to increasing digital inclusion
  • Good understanding of working within a local government or public sector context Demonstrate a commitment to equalities, challenging discrimination, celebrating diversity and creating environments which foster mutual respect and trust.


Must be able to travel around the borough to meetings and other events and occasionally attend meetings and events outside core working hours (evening or weekends), subject to covid-19 restrictions.
