Early Years Practitioner- Additional Support for Children with SEND

Bright Start Nursery is a 55 place nursery located in the heart of Brighton and provides integrated early learning and care for children aged 0 to 5 years. With a welcoming atmosphere and dedicated staff, we aim to create a busy, vibrant environment and personal service.
We are looking for 2 x Early Year Practitioners to provide additional support to children with various special education needs and disabilities. This contract would end in at the end of August 2023.

About the role
Applicants must have a Level 2 early years & childcare qualification or have the required experience and be willing to work towards a childcare qualification; have experience of working with children aged from 6 months to 5 years; have good knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS); have excellent communication skills and the ability to converse with co-workers, parents, and other professionals; experience of communicating effectively with children and demonstrating sensitivity to the needs of young children.
Experience of working as a ‘Key Person’, working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and with children who have English as an additional language is desirable but not essential.
The role is to deliver high quality early years care and education to individual children receiving additional support funding to attend nursery. The roles are within our ‘Adventurers’ rooms working with children aged 2.5 to 5 years. The successful candidate will work closely with the Room Leaders, Deputy Room Leaders and other Nursery Assistants; share ideas and abilities; be a positive role model; and organise stimulating activities; be an active part of our educational environment and meet children’s individual learning needs.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
Work Permits: This role does not meet the requirement for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System. Successful candidates will need to evidence that they have the Right to Work in the UK.
