Working pattern: Part-time and Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 5.85 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

Bourne Primary is a two-form entry school located in Eastbourne town centre, currently with 453 pupils on roll. We are a happy, thriving school that strives to give all children the best education they can receive. We support outdoor learning for all with our developing Forest School. Our focus is to meet the needs of the children in all they do, providing a platform for high achievement whilst also closely matching provision to the learning needs of our most vulnerable children. An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a permanent Family Liaison Officer to join our professional and friendly office team, starting as soon as possible.
As the Family Liaison Officer you will promote a positive attendance and punctuality culture and will follow-up on absence with families/carers in order to improve attendance, communicating effectively and building relationships within our school community and outside agencies.
The successful candidate will:
To be responsible for supporting, monitoring and improving and maintaining the pupils details, attendance and health data within SIMS throughout the school to agreed annual targets and meet statutory regulations and procedures.
To support the school’s Attendance Policy through the administration of registration processes, following up and investigating absences, and working closely alongside pastoral staff in intervention work with students and parents/carers
To oversee the provision of First Aid across the school
To be a member of the school’s safeguarding team/Deputy DSL

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.
