This is an exciting opportunity for a Graduate of the Built Environment who is enthusiastic, flexible, hard-working, extremely organised and self-motivated person with excellent communication skills to join the Building Projects Team within the Council’s Assets Service. As a graduate you will be given all the support and guidance required to fulfil the role from a team of professional colleagues.
Working in the team, you will be responsible for delivering a portfolio of projects of varying degrees in complexity, from more simple schemes to complex projects which require you to think and act as a construction professional. You will be provided support to oversee projects through the complete RIBA project lifecycle and taking stakeholders along the journey with you.
You will be required to undertake site visits across the Borough to complete building surveys, gathering detailed information. Following the site visit you will be required to complete CAD drawings, detailed works specifications, schedules of works, cost projections, and final accounts.
You will be required to complete reports to a high level and follow all statutory requirements and will be required to work with internal departments such as building control and manage the performance of contractors on site.
The successful candidate will receive support through the RICS process from application to final assessment.
An RICS Qualifying Building Surveying Degree is essential for the post.
At Knowsley Council we will consider requests for flexible working. For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: flexible hours, working from home, compressed hours, part-time.
