Hertfordshire County Council is passionate about supporting people who may have barriers to employment, to get into work. In partnership with Sunnyside Rural Trust and SPS Training Ltd, the Council has been awarded funding from the European Social Fund for an exciting new Inclusive Employment Project to achieve these aims.

The European Social Fund helps local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support skills development, employment and job creation, social inclusion and local community regeneration.

We are looking for committed and enthusiastic Job Coaches to offer high quality, personalised support into work for people with disabilities and barriers to employment.

The Job Coach role supports people to prepare for work e.g., by supporting with CV writing, interview preparation, communication skills and travel training, and also to sustain employment once secured.

This is an exciting role that will offer you the opportunity to help people to identify and achieve their career aspirations and to work in conjunction with the Employment Advisors and Employer Liaison Officers in a skilled partnership team with a shared vision to increase social inclusion and improve people’s wellbeing through skills development and employment.

The post holder will need to adopt a flexible working pattern to accommodate the working hours of the clients and will be based either within Step2Skills or in the Day Opportunities team.

The Inclusive Employment Project will be managed within the Step2Skills and the Day Opportunities Teams at Hertfordshire County Council. The project runs from 1st January 2022 to 30th December 2023, therefore all positions will be for a fixed term contract (or secondment for internal candidates) up to the end of December 2023.
