The London Borough of Waltham Forest is excited to be piloting a new ground-breaking and innovative project to embed Violence Reduction at a hyper-local level. LB Waltham Forest is developing this approach to enhance our 15-minute neighbourhood strategy - where key support services are available to residents within 15 minutes from their home.
The postholder will coordinate the Neighbourhood Violence Reduction offer within a specified neighbourhood as part of the Violence Reduction agenda. Providing high-level, specialist 1:1 support and intervention as part of the Violence Reduction offer.
The Violence Reduction Coordinator (VRC) will work alongside key stakeholders to ensure there is a coordinated offer of support services and interventions in the local area. This will involve regular correspondence and updates regarding Violence Reduction initiatives and to identify gaps, trends relevant to the local area.
The Violence Reduction Coordinator will coordinate and deliver plans for engaging with the specified neighbourhood. The Postholder will work closely with each community setting and will build and maintain these relationships which is vital in the success of this project.
The postholder will provide specialist interventions and support to a caseload of children, young people, vulnerable adults and their families.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with experience and knowledge of violence reduction and can assist to help the team towards achieving its goals and outcomes. The postholder will be an individual who is keen to be part of the development of this new approach to Violence Reduction work. The role will be based within community settings and will involve travel to other community settings.
