About the Role
The successful candidate will be part of the Commissioning Team and have opportunity to work with 3rd sector, private and VCS providers who offer services including care at home, residential & nursing care, supported living and early intervention.
As part of a supportive team, you will work alongside the market, with partners in health, and with people who receive support. You will get involved and lead on different projects including strategic commissioning, service design, contract management and procurement all of which will contribute to the Council’s ambition to transform social care in Reading to be more innovative, outcome focused and personalised.
This role will suit an ambitious and enthusiastic person with experience in commissioning and contract management, willing to grasp fresh challenges and learn new skills. Good interpersonal skills, knowledge of social care, an analytical mind and the ability to influence are all essential.
