Cultural Partnerships and Education Officer (2 year fixed term contract)
As Cultural Partnerships and Education Coordinator you will play a key role in the development of the arts and cultural sector within Harlow. This will be done by leading Harlow Cultural Leaders Group, developing and managing strategic and operational relationships with key stakeholders on a local, regional and national level.
You will also contribute to enriching the development of children and young people in Harlow through the provision and coordination of artistic and cultural programmes that connect the education and art sectors. This involves leading on the development of the Local Cultural Education Partnership by bringing together education providers, arts organisations, youth focused stakeholders and cross-sector strategic partners to deliver improved outcomes for children and young people in Harlow.
The post holder will play a key role in increasing engagement in the arts by Harlow residents through supporting the sector and residents to develop increased choice and opportunities that are as diverse as the town’s population. You will be responsible for all parts of service delivery including planning, delivery, and monitoring and evaluation.
The successful candidate is expected to have experience of producing and coordinating programmes of activity across art and culture including working within the creative education sector. You will also be passionate about using the arts to improve broader outcomes for children and young people in Harlow as well as working with potential audiences experiencing inequality who may be less likely to engage in the arts.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with high levels of creativity and the ability to take an idea from concept to delivery. Excellent organisational skills will be required, and you will have excellent motivation skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders including but not limited to local, regional and national arts organisations, education providers, cross sector strategic partners and internal departments.
You will be expected to work flexibly and autonomously but contribute to the work of the wider team.
