Starting salary: JM2:- £36,371 per annum
Location: Mobile Worker – our new system of agile working means that although your work base will be the Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare, you will also be able to work from home.
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term - 24 months

Are you a committed well-being advocate? Are you passionate about the benefits of a healthy workplace? Do you have what it takes to champion and co-ordinate the council’s approach to employee well-being?
This exciting role is an important part of the council’s COVID recovery plans, with an emphasis on reviewing the effectiveness of our current approach and leading a programme of change to have a positive impact on our employee well-being.
North Somerset Council is designing a Healthy Workplace Awards Scheme, and this post provides a new opportunity to lead in the promotion of a healthy workplace for our own employees.
If you have a robust understanding of well-being and the wide range of benefits that come from a healthy workplace, we would like to hear from you. As an experienced professional you will be able to have an immediate impact on the council’s approach to its well-being support for its employees, as well as develop approaches that will have a long-term impact on the organisation.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their experience in:
- Completing a well-being audit in line with recognised well-being standards.
- Designing and implementing a well-being policy and action plan.
- Providing technical advice and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders; including strategic leaders, managers and employees.
- Leading and influencing change programmes.
- Supporting individuals and teams where complex or persistent well-being challenges are presented.
- Analysing the benefits and results of well-being interventions.
- Managing a small team.
In return, you’ll be part of a busy, professional and committed team based in Corporate Services in a role that works closely across all directorates of the council.
This role can be carried out flexibly between the office and home.
