The 0-19 PHNS Partnership Plus Team have an opportunity for an experienced SCPHN to join our team.

You should have an excellent knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme and demonstrate a commitment to multi agency/collaborative and integrated team working. Safeguarding and case management are essential elements of this role and training and support will be provided.

 

Your role in our journey

 

You will be working as part of a team who specifically work with children and young people who are subject to safeguarding plans. You will support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme and provide targeted interventions to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes for this vulnerable group of children, young people and families within the Borough. We are looking for experienced Specialist Community Public Health Nurses with substantial understanding of the complexities of working with vulnerable families and the impact of abuse and neglect on child development with a proven ability to engage in effective multi-disciplinary teamwork. Your role will share the organisation’s commitment to deliver services that are reliable, of high quality and safe in an area of work that is demanding, challenging yet extremely rewarding.  

 

What you will need

This is an exciting opportunity for a registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) either a School Nurse or Health Visitor to join us. You will have a special interest in working with vulnerable children and families providing safe and effective care that enables all children and young people to have the best possible outcome. Applicants should have experience of working with safeguarding cases and able to work in situations that may present challenges for services and staff and understand the national and local issues involved in safeguarding vulnerable children, young people and families.

You will need to carryout cumulative risk assessments of cases at a very high level and possess skills to support challenge when necessary. You will need to be a highly motivated, innovative and resilient individual who can demonstrate leadership ability and who can plan and prioritise your own workload and the ability to travel to a range of venues and settings is essential.
