We are currently recruiting for an Information Governance Officer who will be responsible for supporting the Information Governance Manager in providing the following service:
- Development of policies, procedures and training relating to information governance (FOI, DPA/GDPR, SAR, EIR)
- Development of action plans to ensure delivery of best practise across the organisations
- Undertaking and advising on Data Protection Impact Assessments and Information Risk Assessments
- Effective management of Information Governance investigations, complaints, breaches,
- Supporting/ developing team members to respond to FOI requests, SARs and Data Protection advice
- Performance metrics.
You will be technically proficient and have a solid practical understanding of information governance law as it affects public sector organisations, a focus on detail combined with the ability to see the big picture and manage risk.
Just as importantly you will have a positive attitude towards collaboration and be team player, with the drive and resilience to challenge the status quo and make a difference. You will be confident in your abilities, addressing councillors, senior officers, stakeholders (both inside and outside the organisation) and the public, but you will also know when it’s the right time to escalate matters.
