By working together, with each other and with our communities, we can take pride in improving lives. We are looking for the right people to join us in that journey.

Your role in our journey

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly ambitious, innovative, energetic, friendly and high achieving Public Health team.  The team has developed strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, making our work more effective in meeting the needs of our population and tackling health inequalities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to lead the transformation and delivery of Emotional Health and Wellbeing Services across Barnsley. The post holder will provide a Borough wide strategic leadership role in the design, implementation and integration of children and young people’s services to improve emotional health and wellbeing outcomes.

The Children and Young People Emotional Health and Wellbeing Lead will support both CCG and BMBC children’s commissioners and providers of children’s services to develop integrated approaches to ensure a continuum of service delivery between universal and more specialised services with a focus upon mental and emotional health improvement, prevention of mental health problems and early intervention when problems arise.

Barnsley has a strong foundation for joint working with a co-terminus CCG and local authority, a single trust delivering the majority of acute physical health services, a combined trust for community and mental health services, a GP Federation with strong GP representation, an outstanding rated CCG, and many community-based assets. You will be joining at a time when Barnsley health and care partners are working towards having a strong integrated place-based commissioning system and integrated service provision as well as being a major partner of the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw ICS that is one of the leading-edge systems in England.

What you’ll need

To join us, you’ll need a relevant degree and be able to evidence your commitment to continuous professional development. We are seeking a candidate who has experience of service redesign, managing whole system change and who is a skilled communicator with the ability to support effective decision making across the system. Your track record will include involvement in commissioning and the development of strategies and policies to change services and outcomes and use of evidence-based project, change and performance management techniques to drive successful change. With a flair for public engagement and partnership working, it is your talent for communication that really sets you apart.
