Transport & Vehicle Maintenance

Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Auto Fitter Mechanic within the Transport & Vehicle Maintenance Department, Operational In-House Services.

Reporting to the Charge Hand Mechanic you will support them in ensuring efficient maintenance of the Authority’s vehicle fleet.

Responsibilities will include repair and maintenance of the Authorities 300 vehicle/plant. Based primarily at Hawthorne Road Depot you must have a mechanical background with proven experience in a Commercial Work Shop Environment.

This should include a full HGV category C licence and a sound knowledge and understanding of Commercial Fleet Vehicles, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems.

You should also be fully aware of the HGV/PCV testing procedures and relevant Health & Safety legislation.
