As one of the most diverse places in the world, and with the youngest population in the country, Newham is a unique and vibrant place to work. The Council delivers a host of different services, from housing to social care to early education.

This is a fascinating time to work in local government given the ever evolving devolution agenda and changes to health and social care. The Research Team plays a central role in the Council working directly for the Elected Mayor, and the Strategic Leadership Team, has now expanded to include public health policy and intelligence.

The Council is constantly innovating and working to transform the lives of local people with a focus on building the resilience of residents, our community and the local economy. We do things no other local authority does – like the first borough-wide PRS licencing scheme in the country, or our transformative local employment service, Workplace.
