Senior Residential Childcare Officer
£26,446 - £30,984 per annum+
37 hours per week
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic person as Senior Residential Childcare Officer, supporting the Registered Manager and Assistant Manager with the day to day running of our short breaks service, ensuring that staff are supported and trained to deliver outstanding standards of care.
You will have experience of working with disabled children and ideally experience in a supervisory position and have NVQ Level 3 Residential Childcare or equivalent.
You will need an understanding of disability and children’s homes legislation and know how to apply these to achieve excellent outcomes for children. You will also have a knowledge of safeguarding and be able to record and report to the designated safeguarding lead.
You will work with other professionals to provide co-ordinated support to meet the children’s needs. Most importantly you will be child focussed in your practice, ensuring that the children have a safe and fun experience that promotes their independence and life skills.
About the role
Senior Residential Childcare Officers oversee the day to day running of shifts, ensuring that the children have enjoyable visits, a range of stimulating experiences and promote their independence.
Senior Residential Childcare Officers supervise and mentor staff, contribute to team meetings and have targeted areas of work, which could include planning activities, ensuring that communication needs are met or health and safety,.
Bridges is an OFSTED registered 5 bed centre that provides a range of short breaks, where children have fun, safe and positive experience and develop independence skills. We also work as part of a wider service, to support families to meet the needs of their children.
