Active Hastings Social Marketing and Communications Officer - 2 Year Fixed Term

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Active Hastings team as we expand the programme, thanks to funding from Hastings Primary Care Network. Active Hastings is a partnership project between Hastings Borough Council and East Sussex County Council, which aims to increase physical activity levels and reduce health inequalities in the least active members of our community.

We are looking for an experienced Marketing and Communications Officer, or marketing graduate, who is passionate about using marketing techniques to improve people’s health and wellbeing, particularly people with long term health conditions or those identified as being at risk of poor health outcomes. You will use social marketing techniques to increase the awareness of local initiatives and national physical activity campaigns such as Sport England’s This Girl Can and We Are Undefeatable campaigns. You will increase the motivation and physical activity levels of inactive residents, utilising both online and offline communication techniques. The post offers the opportunity to be involved in a variety of physical activity initiatives, for example, projects that aim to tackle adult obesity, youth anti-social behaviour, social isolation in older people, and management of long-term health conditions, making this an exciting role for anyone with a passion for physical activity.
