Principal Planning Policy Officer
£31,401 - £35,229 pro rota
Part time 20-25 hrs per week
Blaby District offers the full range of challenges for planning professionals, covering parts of the urban fringe of Leicester City, a range of other towns and villages and attractive rural countryside.
The Council already has an adopted core strategy, permission granted for a 4,250 home urban extension, a demonstrable 5 year land supply and is in the advanced stages of preparing our Delivery DPD to finish the current Local Plan; however we are not stopping there. We will be taking forward some high priority projects over the next 12 months and beyond; seeking to maintain a robust and up to date planning policy framework, enable business growth, and promote inward investment in the district. To support this we now have an exciting opportunity in a key position that will drive and support our planning policy functions.
This role will have a varied and interesting remit, including the production of a new Local Plan for the district, supporting the strategic planning process, as well as some involvement in neighbourhood planning. The role will also support the formulation and monitoring of other planning policies and assist with the delivery of the Development Strategy Team’s work programme.
