About the role

We are very excited to advertise a fantastic opportunity for a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice to join a small team within the Standards and Learning Effectiveness Service (SLES) at East Sussex County Council.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to support a variety of projects and pieces of work within the service whilst developing their own knowledge and skills along the way.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop new and enhance existing skills whilst learning how to undertake a range of administrative tasks effectively and efficiently. These duties will include maintaining electronic filing systems, supporting with the creation of social media posts and articles for other communication channels such as the service newsletter, contributing to the organisation of events and meetings, maintaining records of the services technology (laptops and phones) and liaising with other colleagues to collect and share information.

The successful candidate will:

- Be able to use own initiative

- Be able to effectively organise their own workload

- Be able to check for accuracy and give attention to detail

- Have the ability to communicate effectively and converse at ease with various groups and organisations both within and external to ESCC

- Have competent IT skills across Microsoft packages including Word and Excel

- Be committed and reliable, well-organised and have a positive and productive outlook, whilst being a strong team-player and desire to help and support others

- Have a positive attitude to learning

 

We have a hybrid model of working where office working at County Hall, Lewes is required on Mondays and Thursdays and the remaining working days from home. A laptop and mobile phone will be provided.

This apprenticeship will provide you with practical employment experience, learning on the job, whilst undertaking a nationally recognised qualification. Observation and assessment will take place throughout the term of the apprenticeship to build upon your levels of understanding leading toward your qualification.

For the purposes of enrolment on to the apprenticeship training course, we cannot accept applications from candidates with a qualification equal to or above in a related subject, or with more than 12-24 months of work experience in a similar role.
