Hertfordshire County Council Services for Young People is the primary provider of youth work; information, advice and careers guidance; work related learning and work experience to young people in Hertfordshire.
The Service is a key contributor to the prevention and early intervention / early help agenda including Hertfordshire County Council’s aim of supporting young people to make a successful transition to an economically independent adult life.
It enables young people to succeed by providing high quality informal education opportunities to promote their personal and social development. It supports young people who are challenged in education, their communities or home life to ensure a successful transition to adulthood.
This summer we are looking for applicants with some experience of working with young people (aged 13 to 16) to join one of a number of small local teams delivering local youth work programmes throughout the county. Based at one of our young people’s centres or in another community venue young people will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of informal activities afternoons / early evenings.
You could have the opportunity to get involved in our exciting new HAP programme which provides free holiday activities for young people aged 13 to 16 who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals. Our programmes support young people's physical and mental health through activities including sports, dance, art and team challenges.
