The Strength and Balance Officer will be responsible for delivering the West Essex Strength and Balance Service in Harlow. The strength and balance service is a commissioned service that aims to reduce the number of falls within the community.
The role will be responsible for all parts of service delivery including planning, delivery, and monitoring and evaluation. The successful candidate will have experience of delivering physical activity opportunities aimed towards older people and people with long term conditions that may be at a greater risk of falling. Qualifications relating to improving strength and balance, managing long term conditions and reducing the risk of falls will be advantageous as will an ability to deliver sessions digitally as well as in person.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with high levels of empathy, excellent motivation skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders including but not limited to participants and their families or carers, referral agencies and internal partners. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and autonomously but contribute to the work of wider team and strength and balance service across West Essex.
As part of the interview process, candidates will need to plan and deliver a short strength and balance physical activity session.
