The Lewisham Library and Information Service is moving onto the 21st century and requires energetic, imaginative, talented, and hard working staff to complete its reorganisation and develop new exciting services.

The role

A frontline role designed to support the community to make the best use of their local library. This is a supervisory position.

This is a part time position with roles available for 17.5hrs, 20hrs and 21hrs per week.

The working week includes Saturday and Sunday and late nights to be worked on a rota.

Location

Catford and Downham Libraries.

Whilst the service is primarily based in one of the above libraries, we operate a hybrid approach whereby you may be required to work both in one of the buildings and from home as determined by service requirements.  This is a frontline service.

  • Excellent communication, customer care and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and part of a team. 
  • Staff supervision is an essential part of this role.

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
