Winchester City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Procurement professional to join our small Procurement Team. We understand that decisions about what we buy and how we buy it, is fundamental to everything we do - from providing excellent services to our residents and businesses whilst maintaining the balance of meeting efficiencies, to ensuring fairness and compliance with our processes.
We are a busy team who are customer focused and the post holder will be critical to the successful delivery of procurement and contract management activities across the council.
You will build on our good reputation, by providing expert advice and guidance on a wide range of procurement issues to colleagues and external stakeholders, in line with the council's contract procedure rules and the Public Contract Regulations 2015. You will have the opportunity to lead on high value, complex procurements.
We are looking for an individual with a team approach, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to stay calm under pressure. You will be required to manage competing priorities, and work to tight deadlines.
