Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 40 weeks per year plus 6 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

About the role
Iford and Kingston CE Primry School is a small, successful village school located on the outskirts of Lewes. We are looking for a Secretary (a job description and person specification are included with the application pack) who will perform a key role within the school. As well as fulfilling a range of administrative tasks, the person appointed will be the 'face' of the school as they answer the phone, deal with enquiries from parents and welcome visitors to the school.
The successful applicant will be well organised and able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide range of people including parents, members of the community and members of the staff team. They will either have, or be willing to be trained in, experience of information management systems as well as Microsoft Office software and previous experience of working in a school environment is desirable, although not essential.
The job will involve dealing with large amounts of information and being able to prioritise when faced with busy work schedules. The successful applicant will also become part of a supportive, happy staff team and school environment and will have the satisfaction of playing in a key role in a thriving, successful school.
The position is term-time only and visits to the school are encouraged.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
