About the role

Willingdon Primary School is looking for a dynamic Deputy Headteacher to join the new leadership team from April 2022 or September 2022. The school is situated on the edge of Eastbourne, in a superb location at the base of the South Downs.

Willingdon Primary School is a rapidly improving school committed to getting the best from all staff and gaining excellent outcomes for all children. We have a proven track record of developing our staff and working in a collaborative way within the school and in partnership with other schools.

The school is in an exciting phase of development and we need a passionate Deputy to support the Headteacher and SLT to drive school improvement.

The successful candidate will deliver an exciting first-class learning experience for all our pupils. The post carries specific responsibility for curriculum and assessment, together with a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibility. There will also be a 2 day teaching commitment within the role, job sharing in a class.

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with the leadership skills and ambition to work within a flourishing school.

The successful candidate will:

  • Share responsibility for the day-to-day running of the school, assisting the Headteacher in the effective administration and management of the school.
  • Promote the positive ethos of the school, fostering a welcoming, lively, safe and effective learning environment.
  • To assist in the promotion, direction and oversight of high standards of teaching and learning, pupil achievement and progress.
  • Inspire and motivate colleagues and contribute to the to the professional development of all members of the school community.
