About the role

Play Leader - Glenleigh Park Primary Academy

This is an exciting opportunity to join Glenleigh Park Primary Academy in a role that will involve enhancing the children's enjoyment of lunchtime, and promoting positive behaviour, by organising and leading activities and teaching children how to play.  This will include setting up team games, encouraging appropriate use of equipment and promoting fair play.

At Glenleigh Park we are committed to giving our children the very best education possible. This commitment applies throughout lunchtime as well as in class and at playtimes. Our lunchtime team play a vital part in the promotion of the best welfare and education for all our children. The job of Playleader is a vital one, with high expectations and equally high job satisfaction.

The role:

  • To work as part of the lunchtime team
  • To promote the social and emotional development of children during lunchtime play
  • To ensure the health and safety of pupils during lunchtime
  • To lead the children in enjoying a calm and pleasant lunchtime
  • To support the school's overall ethos and behaviour policy
  • To liaise with other staff about children in our care
