Waltham Forest is a fiercely ambitious council, adapting to meet the ever-changing demands and pressures on our public services.
Supporting work to deliver our Fair Deal agenda as part of the corporate Change Team, this role will play a key role in helping ensure we meet the priorities set out in our Public Service Strategy and provide the best possible services and opportunities for our residents.
In the first instance, the role will be integral in taking forward our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Replacement Programme, which will implement a new system for essential back-office functions, including Finance, Procurement, Business Support and Human Resources enabling Council staff to work more efficiently and impactfully. Experience in this area of work is welcome but not essential.
The role will involve working with different services to deliver the benefits of the programme to our residents, communities and staff. The postholder will work with a wide range of stakeholders, testing and developing new initiatives to build support for the changes, helping to embed lasting change across the organisation.
To succeed in this role, you will have a passion for change, and be able to engage others to embrace new ways of working. You will need to develop excellent relationships with staff at all levels of the organisation, in an inclusive manner, with a strong commitment to excellent customer service.
You will have experience of running and managing complex projects and change initiatives. You will be a successful and respected leader, able to lead and inspire teams in both traditional and matrix working arrangements. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a range of non-specialist audiences.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues from across the Council to develop detailed delivery plans, understand interdependencies with other key corporate initiatives, and to help ensure the changes are aligned and working to deliver the ambitions and aspirations of the Council’s Fair Deal agenda.
Evidence of successful working with, supporting and influencing senior stakeholders is essential.
