Salary Range: £25,481 pa progressing to £27,741

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and well-organised data analyst to join our Step2Skills team (formerly HAFLS).
This role provides an opportunity for someone with the right skills and experience to increase their knowledge and involvement in designing and developing reporting systems across the education/skills and employment support provision within Step2Skills.
The jobholder will work with a variety of different teams and will need to be able to manage their own workload and deadlines. The ability to communicate with individuals across the busines to interpret their requirements and advise on how best to meet their reporting needs will be critical.
Key skills and knowledge will include a high degree of proficiency in the design of Excel based reporting systems such that end users can utilise these reports to extract information relevant to their needs. This will include being able to visualise data (e.g charts, pivot tables, conditional formatting etc), VBA skills to automate reporting process would also be desirable.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be familiar with the principles and use of online databases (experience in using Learnertrack would be particularly advantageous).
Step2Skills (formerly known as HAFLS) is based at County Hall Hertford and is part of Hertfordshire County Council. It comprises over 60 members of staff and has close connections with partners and sub-contractors across Hertfordshire. Through funding from the Education & Skills Funding Agency, it provides a wide variety of qualification and community learning courses, delivered by both our inhouse team of teachers and our sub-contractor partners. Employment support services are also provided on a 1:1 basis to a variety of different groups, with the exact type of support being specific to the needs of the individual and their personal circumstances.
