West Lancashire Borough Council own and manage circa 6,000 homes across the Skelmersdale and Ormskirk areas. The Property Services Team maintain those homes via a proactive repairs service and capital investment programmes, ensuring they are safe, warm and well maintained for our customers.
An opportunity has arisen to join the Property Services, Investment Team as a Building Surveyor to assist with the delivery of the capital investment programmes. The work streams include but are not limited to, kitchen and bathroom replacements, roofing programmes, cyclical painting and enveloping schemes.
The key areas the post will be focusing on are:
The delivery of the assigned work stream.
Use established key performance indicators to drive efficiencies, and monitor contractor performance to continually improve service delivery.
Operate within an assigned budget and deliver agreed financial and operational targets.
Work closely with Housing and Inclusion colleagues to ensure customers' needs understood and achieved.
Collaborative working with the Property Services Compliance and Repairs Teams to ensure seamless delivery of the capital investment programmes, supporting an effective and coherent approach to statutory compliance, with particular emphasis on the management of asbestos, fire safety and gas servicing and the planning of future capital investment programmes to ensure we are investing in the right homes at the right time.
Ensuring all documentation is digitally recorded within the Councils databases and in line with Council policies and procedures.
Delivery of a Customer focused service in line with our Core Expected Behavioural Standards.
We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor with a proven track record in contractor management and delivery of capital investment programmes. You will need to be a team player, comfortable working in a fast paced environment, who can shape and deliver a customer focused front line service and have a desire to achieve their best by providing the 'right solution at the right time'.
