12-month temporary contract

Salary: £27,801.80 p.a.

 

Broxbourne Borough Council’s Housing Advice Service is looking for a highly professional and enthusiastic person to join this ambitious and innovative Housing Prevention Team. Ideally we are looking for someone with previous experience working in a Local Authority homelessness setting and knowledge of the relevant legislation.

You will be working with a dedicated team supporting those who are homeless to secure settled accommodation and move on from temporary accommodation. The role is interesting and varied, and involves case management and the ability to work collaboratively with other partner agencies using your own initiative.

We want a highly motivated person with a genuine interest in helping people and experience of working in a customer-facing role. Excellent verbal communication skills in fluent English are essential, as your are required to have sensitive conversations and managing customer expectations effectively. Good written and analytical skills are equally important, therefore a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Math’s is fundamental. A full driving license is also required as the role includes visits to clients in the community.
