IMT Operations Engineer
Full time, 37 Hours per Week
Grade 8 - £33,422 – £36,731 (additional Out of hours pay and overtime)

This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced, dynamic, forward thinking IT Shared Service as an Operations Engineer, working on both Projects and 3rd Line Support to optimise IT infrastructure systems.
The Operations Team is part of a shared IT service between Test Valley Borough Council and Winchester City Council. This is a highly technical hands on role to develop and maintain well integrated, high availability IT infrastructure enabling both councils to work from modern, scalable platforms and ensure continuous service.
You will have a background in Infrastructure with practical hands-on technical experience across the Microsoft technology stack with skills in Server / M365 / Exchange / Citrix XenApp / ESXi / Networking / Storage and Backup solutions. Experience of Microsoft Endpoint, Autopilot and Windows 10 would also be an advantage.
This exciting role is ideal for a candidate with a proven track record of supporting on-premises / hybrid architecture looking to progress their career as part of an exciting transition towards Cloud services. You will need to work under pressure and be able to contribute to the success of a highly skilled team of IT professionals. On-going training opportunities will be provided to ensure your skills are developed.
Lead as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Infrastructure related technologies for the ITSS Operations Team. Monitor core Infrastructure services and deliver daily management of Cloud / Server / VMware / Storage / Citrix / Exchange & Email filtering / AD / Network and Backup solutions.
Work as Technical Project lead on the implementation of new, and upgrade of existing solutions – Infrastructure improvements / server build / Cloud implementations and system upgrades
Ownership of 3rd Line IT incidents, problems, changes and service requests in accordance with defined SLA's and procedures. Formulating recovery plans for any breaks in service.
Identify Security risks, highlight, manage and escalate as necessary.
Produce / Update high quality technical documentation of Infrastructure systems and services.
You will adhere to ITIL disciplines and have excellent workload and time management skills requiring minimal supervision.
