An opportunity has arisen for an experienced financial professional to join our finance team on a part-time, job share basis. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to provide comprehensive, professional accountancy and general financial advisory support to budget holders, helping to ensure consistently high standards of financial management across the Council.
You will be required to support services with the production of annual estimates and business plans, monitoring these throughout the year and completing closing work at year-end. You will also be expected to develop effective working relationships with services to ensure that all financial matters are addressed satisfactorily in line with financial regulations, whilst bringing a commercial view to services and their operation.
The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accounting Technician or equivalent with excellent spreadsheet skills and proven extensive experience in a finance role, preferably as an Accountant, within a Local Authority or similar organisation.
