About the role -
In this role, you'll develop skills in debt recovery, and be given the opportunity to develop and progress within the team where possible. Support technical specialist's and the management team to reach objectives set for the team. You will have the chance to use a new system and be given the IT training to effectively use this system from the beginning. This is an exciting time to join our team with many opportunities and changes coming our way. We are looking for someone to embrace that change and help our team grow and improve.
You will ensure we have recovered revenue across a number of different areas; Accounts Receivable and Council Tax effectively on behalf of the residents of Wirral to give a better future and follow the Wirral plan.
You will assist in delivering the objectives of the Income and Debt Team.
About the candidate -
We are looking for someone who can make the perfect addition to our team, who can analyse information quickly and efficiently and escalate to technical specialists when necessary.
You'll need to have knowledge of relevant specialist legislative requirements e.g. council tax, business rates, accounts receivable and benefits. You'll need experience understanding and abiding by confidentiality requirements.
Your experience should include data input into Income and Debt systems and experience in working in a customer service or office environment.
You will need a track record of excellent customer service, working to deadlines and show excellent literacy/numeracy skills and interpersonal and communication skills.
Above all you will be looking to improve the way we recover revenue for the benefit of Wirral residents, to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do.

This position will initially, in line with current government guidance be based from home. In future, the Council will be moving to a hybrid of working arrangements for many of our roles with a combination of homeworking, office and site working as required.
