About the role
East Sussex County Council (ESCC) is working to increase its integrated approach to the delivery of health and social care services. ESCC Occupational Therapy Services is looking for Occupational Therapists to be part of this process.
The role will include assessing Adults in line with the Care Act. As an Occupational Therapist you will have a pivotal role in the well-being agenda and inform the interventions needed to meet clients' and carers' assessed eligible needs. You will manage and reduce risks, allowing clients to remain as safe as possible in their own homes, using a reablement approach.
The role will involve working with a range of daily living equipment, undertaking adaptations, moving and handling and working jointly with partner agencies.
You need to have skills to manage the challenges that an environment of continual improvement and development brings.
If you are energetic, self-motivated and committed to working across agencies, as well as strengthening partnerships, particularly with health, and are passionate about developing your career as a professional occupational therapist, then we would like to hear from you.
In return we will offer you a comprehensive induction programme, regular supervision and training and development opportunities.
This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). For further information about what is required in this process please go to http://www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check. Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
If you require any reasonable adjustments, due to disability, to enable you to participate fully in the process please contact the hiring manager on the contact details above.
Reasonable adjustments include things like an offline application form. If you would like to discuss your requirements further, please get in touch.
