Would you like an opportunity to support Hertfordshire delivering better outcomes for children with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

Integrated Services for Learning is a multi-disciplinary service comprising of SEND Specialist Advice and Support services, Access & Inclusion Services, Educational Psychologists and Statutory services.

A key function of ISL SEND Specialist Advice and Support Services (SEND SAS) is to ensure that the educational and developmental progress of children and young people (0-25), with a range of SEND, is met in line with the Hertfordshire Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Strategy and Children’s Services strategic objectives.

Within the service, there is a vacancy for a Lead Teacher post in the Speech, Language, Communication and Autism specialism.

The post holder will support the County Specialism Lead for Speech, Language, Communication and Autism, ensuring quality and equity of service delivery across the county. They will also lead on complex case work, including out of county casework where required. 

As part of Integrated Services for Learning (ISL) the post holder will work collaboratively with the Delivering Special Provision Locally (DSPL) Partnerships and other colleagues both within and outside ISL to promote early intervention, assessment and excellent inclusive practice.

Another key part of your role will be to support Children’s Services and the SEND SAS team with the SEND Transformation programme and implementing the recommendations from the recent service review. 

We are looking for someone with relevant experience and skills in speech, language, communication and autism, and an excellent communicator who is well equipped to collaborate, coordinate and appropriately challenge.
