John F Kennedy Special School are looking to appoint 2 qualified teachers with experience in teaching Autistic students or students with SLD/PMLD and who are able to see the possibilities for our exceptional learners to develop provision that enables all to thrive.

JFK is a creative and innovative school that is committed to providing an outstanding education for children with a wide range of learning needs. JFK is part of Learning in Harmony Trust (www.lihtrust.uk) and as such you will be joining a friendly, enthusiastic and well qualified staff team in a highly stimulating and rewarding environment.

JFK has a stimulating environment where children can be safe and enjoy learning with a dedicated team of staff. Staff are our most important resource and we invest heavily in CPD based on individual need.

You will teach creative lessons in an adaptable framework that complements each pupil’s stage of learning. Lessons need to include structured approaches to learning and there is an emphasis on communication strategies to meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils. Learning is brought alive by creative, visual and sensory methods. Teaching and learning is underpinned by a structure of policy and practice.

Learning in Harmony Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.

We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people in our care and expect all staff to share this commitment. We follow safer recruitment practice and the successful applicant will need a satisfactory enhanced DBS certificate and supportive references.
