Rutland County Council are seeking a Waste Contracts Officer to maintain the suitable operation of all the Council’s Waste Management Contracts and in liaison with the Environment Manager, monitor Contractor performance against relevant specifications and performance management requirements. We are looking for a Waste Contracts Officer who has experience working in the industry and who has knowledge of waste collection and treatment processes. This is a varied role that sees the postholder getting involved in contracts, permits, duty of care, audits, inspections and much more! 

About you… 

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Holder of a WAMITAB certificate of Technical Competence (NVQ Level 4)
  • Experience of working in the Waste Management industry
  • Good communication and record keeping skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, GIS/mapping software and Word. 

About the role… 

  • Delivering a high-quality Waste Management service whilst implementing Contract Performance Management mechanisms
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory details relating to Waste Collection and Waste Treatment / Disposal
  • Monitoring performance of Civic Amenity Sites
  • Planning and undertaking inspections, audits, management reviews to ensure proper functioning services
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records. 

The Waste Contracts Officer interviews will be held on 26th and 28th January 2022. Please be advised this could be subject to change, in which case we will give appropriate notice.
