About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with a can do attitude to undertake caretaking duties at Grovelands Community Primary School on a relief basis. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the School Business Manager as required to carry out a range of duties as outlined in job description to ensure safety, security, maintenance and cleanliness of the site and premises. The relief Caretaker will be required to undertake cleaning and care-taking duties of a high standard and be responsible for ensuring the building is secure in the evenings/weekends. They will also be responsible for preparing and opening the building for evening and weekend hire use. It is expected that the post holder is capable of carrying out their duties largely unsupervised on an ad hoc basis.The relief Caretaker will be expected to undertake their duties in a manner consistent with Health and Safety legislation and confidentiality.

Salary: Single Status Grade 3 (As the position is on a relief basis the above salary will be paid on a claims basis).
This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.
The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.
If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
