Estate Services is looking for a Caretaking Team Manager with experience in delivering communal Caretaking and Cleaning services in either a large Council Housing or Housing Association setting who offers a wide range of key skills including the proven ability to manage people, implement change and follow policies and procedures.


The new Manager will work closely with the Estate Services Manager and one other Caretaking Team Manager and all other stakeholders to deliver high quality services to over 10,000 residents living on our estates who are in receipt of cleaning and caretaking services.


To deliver results that benefit our residents you will be expected to contribute to key aspects of work carried out by Estate Services including:

  • Direct management of caretaking & cleaning operations under your control
  • Digital transformation
  • Developing a ‘greener’ service
  • Team learning and development
  • Reviewing service provision from staff, contractors and Greener Ealing
  • Partnership working with officers including those from Direct Services, the Housing Hubs, Repairs, Broadway Living and Safer Communities teams.


Currently working in a lower Management or Supervisory role you will provide strong:

  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • IT skills
  • Problem solving ability
  • Decision making skills.


A valid driving licence is essential as you will need to be able to visit multiple locations around the borough as part of your role. Having your own means of transportation is preferable as it will not be possible to provide you with a vehicle at all times.


This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.


This role is subject to Ealing Council’s enhanced vetting process.
