WASTE SERVICES SUPERVISOR – 37 hrs per week
GRADE E £23,541 to £27,041
Erewash Borough Council is seeking to appoint an experienced individual to lead on all matters relating to the management and operation of the council’s waste & recycling services for the borough (including kerbside waste & recycling collections) via our own in-house service. Reporting to the Waste Services Manager you will be directly responsible for matters relating to the front-line operation, including dealing with disposal facilities and process.
Using your knowledge and excellent communication and interpersonal skills you will direct, motivate and develop the refuse collection team, and work across operational boundaries to support directly the delivery of a key frontline service. You will also work closely with the Waste Services Manager, other operational service teams and departments, to further develop the service range, improve on recycling targets, and monitor compliance in regards to the boroughs legal duty.
You will oversee the health & safety management systems relevant to the waste services, and ensure we meet operational targets and objectives, as well as statutory requirements regarding health and safety matters. You will also liaise with fleet service officers and managers to ensure vehicle requirements are met to fulfil services, monitor and report on accidents for insurance purposes, and ensure road compliance at all times. You will also support the service in regards to budgetary management, by monitoring and controlling expenditure.
