An exciting career opportunity has arisen within West Berkshire Council with the need to fill the role of Finance Operations Manager. We are seeking a dynamic and progressive individual to be the strategic and operational lead on all matters relating to Exchequer Services.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Accountant, and based in our award winning Finance & Property service, you will be responsible for leading, developing and motivating a team of 16FTE. The role will be responsible for the effective operation of Exchequer Services, leading and motivating the section to deliver an efficient and high performing service. Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Developing, implementing and managing the delivery of strategic and operational plans and projects to provide the Council with a cost effective and efficient service
- Implementing systems to develop, monitor and maintain corporate policies, standards and guidelines on all Exchequer Services matters
- Leading, managing and promoting Exchequer Services and be the head of profession for the service.
Exchequer Services is experiencing an unprecedented period of change, within a climate of continuous improvement to ensure value for money and maximised performance.
We are ideally looking to offer the successful candidate the full number of hours advertised above. We may however consider offering less hours than advertised providing they meet the requirements of the role and service which will be determined by the recruiting manager.
