About the role

Support Worker (for one person)

If you would like to go to work everyday knowing that you have made an impact on one young man's life, then this could be the job for you.

This unique support service has been created around the individual support needs of a young man who has Autism, a severe learning disability, epilepsy and behaviours which can be described as challenging.

The service is managed by the family who will give you the support you need to succeed and be happy in your job. The young man lives at home with his family and your role is to give him daily opportunities to explore his community whilst his parents are at work. Due to the nature of his support needs, you will always work alongside another member of staff who already knows this young man well. You will have full use of the family home, access to his own car and a daily budget which you will use to develop his independent living skills and socially appropriate behaviours.

You will have to be the right person to support this young man as his team is deliberately kept small so that everyone gets to know him really well. As such, this is a rare opportunity to join a team who are committed to giving this young man a good life.

As our Support Worker in our team, we can offer you:

* Sociable working hours which are mainly Monday to Friday; 8am to 6pm with some evenings and occasional weekends

* 30 to 37 hours per week

* A thorough induction programme which is supported by our Team Leader

* Access to training which will enhance your own skill set and career

* Regular supervision and support by our Team Leader

* Access to a pension scheme

* Good holidays

* A genuine opportunity to change someone's quality of life

If you would like to discuss any aspect of the role, please call the Service Manager, Penny Mackay, on 07813 978 182 or email pennymackay@hotmail.com for an application pack. This post is independent of ESCC.

Closing date is Monday 17 January at 5pm. Interviews are on Friday 21 January in Eastbourne.
